Description
This course will explore the origins and developments of Musical Theatre, from early vaudeville to the current stage. The course is concerned primarily with the Broadway Musical. The development of musicals will be looked at from various lenses, historical, social, political, aesthetic as well as from various staging and musical innovations. The course will explore the interplay between the Musical and the Culture, and how they work together to create the contemporary Broadway Musical. Corequisites: THA 110, PED 147.
