Description

(formerly PSY 265)
An examination of human cognitive processes and their corresponding neurophysiological structures and activities, with a stress on neurocognition. Current theories and research are discussed in relation to topics such as: sensation and perception; pattern recognition; attention and consciousness; learning and memory; reading, thinking, creativity, intelligence and cognitive development. Conventional models of cognition as well as recent contributions from neuroscience and computer science are also discussed. Prerequisites: PSY 111 and a psychology elective.
