    Description

An exploration of concept analysis and its development through the humanities is the focus of this course. Certain phenomena are of central concern to the nursing profession: hope, joy, wellness, grief, suffering and vulnerability. These concepts, and others, are analyzed through the mindful study of the humanities: art, music, dance, poetry and literature. The unique yet integral role of the humanities in uncovering the meaning of the human experience is the central focus. Students investigate phenomena of concern and illuminate them through the study of the humanities. Students develop theoretical connections and philosophical reflections for future theory construction.
