Required for all music majors, the course examines music?s evolution in cultural context from Ancient through Baroque periods; the basic elements of styles, forms and performance practices within them, the innovation of outstanding composers and their representative work. In addition, education majors will outline and understand the professional dispositions behind successful musicians, composers and teachers throughout the ages. For Music Majors Only.
