Description

(also PHI 324; formerly MAT/PHI 227)
A study of the contributions made by various individuals and cultures to the growth and development of ancient, modern and current mathematical topics. The approach to the course will be both chronological and topical. Prerequisites: Three years of high school mathematics, including Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra 2; passing of the Algebra I Regents Examination; or equivalent.
