This
course will focus on the study of general philosophical and/or theological
theories, principles, and applications in the field of biomedical ethics. (3 credits)
Course Objectives
1) Understand the critical importance of the
use of ethical theory when facing moral issues in a health-care context and the
pivotal role moral judgment plays in the lives of health-care professionals.
2) Develop an ongoing moral sensitivity to the
individual and social aspects of health-care issues.
3) Develop an attentive attitude to the moral
dialogue within the health-care profession.
4) Demonstrate an awareness and appreciation of
religious and theological concerns within health-care ethics and society at-large.
