This course is designed to look at structural institutions that contribute to neighborhood disadvantaged in communities of color. This course most importantly examines what factors keep youth in disadvantaged communities from offending. Special attention is paid to the role of neighborhood organizations, family structure, educational institutions and the criminal justice system in these communities.
