Description
(formerly Spanish for Spanish Speakers; formerly SPA 147, 148)
Designed for students who speak Spanish at home but have been educated primarily in English, this course enhances oral and written expression as well as reading comprehension. It includes extensive practice with the conventions of written Spanish and many activities designed to expand vocabulary. Course materials include literary and journalistic readings, films and videos selected to provide an understanding of the Spanish-speaking community in the United States, Latin America and Spain. This class is accepted in lieu of SPA 201 and 215 for the Spanish major. Prerequisite: Chairperson's approval.
