(formerly SPA 151, 152, 153; formerly Spanish Conversation I, II)
These courses are designed to reinforce oral expression and comprehension. Spoken Spanish is stressed by a review of grammar and idiomatic strategies for self-expression and the expression of ideas on topics of current interest and cultural significance in the Spanish-speaking world. Materials used include journalistic texts, films, videos, audiotapes, songs and short stories. The Department strongly recommends that students take SPA 201 concurrently with this course. Prerequisite for 215: SPA 102 (104, 106) or equivalent. Prerequisite for 216: SPA 215. Students are required to complete 1 hour of lab work per week in the Language Resource Center.
