(formerly SPA 151, 152, 153; formerly Spanish Conversation I, II)
These courses are designed to reinforce oral expression and comprehension. Spoken Spanish is stressed by a review of grammar and idiomatic strategies for self-expression and the expression of ideas on topics of current interest and cultural significance in the Spanish-speaking world. Materials used include journalistic texts, films, videos, audiotapes, songs and short stories. The Department strongly recommends that students take SPA 201 concurrently with this course. The Department may change placement into a language course based upon individual previous language experience. Recommended prerequisite: SPA 102 (104, 106) or equivalent. Students are required to complete 1 hour of lab work per week in the Language Resource Center.
