Description

This course examines the relationship between the legal system and the evolving cultural values and social expectations. It focuses upon the social ramifications of contemporary court cases dealing with constitutional issues, criminal law, civil law, torts, professional malpractice, family law and administrative procedures. Lower court decisions, appeals and Supreme Court decisions and their implications for each citizen and for the society as a whole are discussed and debated. Prerequisite: CRJ 101
