Description

This course will offer the student an introduction to the philosophy and the discipline of Zen Buddhism. The specific objectives of this offering are threefold: (1) To introduce the student to both the history and the philosophy of Buddhism as that history and philosophy culminate in the discipline of Zen Buddhism, (2) To engage the student in the realization of the efficacy of Zen practice in his/her daily life and (3) To engage the student in the foundation of the Zen practice zazen, or sitting meditation.
