Description
A course for students who have little or no formal study in music. It examines the elements of music and how music affects people emotionally and physically. This course includes a historical survey of the role of music in preliterate cultures, the relationship between music and healing during the Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras, and the development of music as therapy in the twentieth century. It will include an overview of current issues in music therapy. (Satisfies the General Education Music History requirement.)
