Description

An introduction to the fundamental principles of point-set topology. This course explores how basic properties of the real numbers such as continuity, convergence, connectedness and compactness can be generalized in a topological space. Other topics studied may include: product and quotient topologies, metric spaces, separation axioms and Tychonoff Theorem. Prerequisites: MAT 223, MAT 232.
