Description

Healthcare Economics will explore economic concepts on the micro and macro levels. The laws of supply and demand will be explored as they relate to the healthcare environment. Current issues of health insurance, uncompensated care, chronic disease management, methods of delivery, costs, pricing, and financing of health services will be explored while noting the micro and macroeconomic environment. The economic value of research and development, innovation, cost structures, physician specialization, utilization of mid-level practitioners, medical homes and prevention will be closely addressed.
